The Sentry-Cora Linn Protest. Patea R.C.’s Decision Reversed. At the meeting- of the Taranaki Jockey Club held on Friday last, the appeal, by the owner of (Sentry against the owner of Cora Linn, from the decision of the Stewards of the Patea Racing- Club was heard. Cora Linn won a race at the meeting-, but a protest was lodged by the owner of the second horse on the ground that the winner was owned by W. Yourg, a disqualified person. The protest was disallowed by the Stewards, but an appeal being made, the stakes and totalisator money was impounded. After a lengthy hearing the Committee unanimously decided to allow the appeal and uphold the protest, and that the stakes and totalisator money be paid out by the Patea Club on the second horse. Mr Goodson has given notice of appeal against the decision of the Metropolitan Club to the Conference, and all money is still further impounded pending the decision of the Conference Committee.
