FRANCES ROSS DRAMATIC COM P ANY.

SACKED CONCERT. Lovers of music will bo pleased to hear that amongst the members of the above company are some who are vocalists of no mean order, and that it is their intention to give a strictly sacred concert io the Harmonic Hall on Sunday evening m xfc. after the conclusion of the services in the various churches. Mr C. Angus, is the happy possessor of a tenor voice of great range and sweetness; and what is more, he sings with very great expression. His rendition of the sacred song, “Consola* tion,” in “The Two Orphans,” at Wanganui, came as a pleasant surprise to the audience, and he had to submit to a double encore. The baritone singer of the company is Mr Charles Blake, whoso voice is of more than ordinary depth and power, and when it is mentioned that he was specially requested to sing at the Catholic Church, atWanganui, during the company’s recent season there, it only serves to shew in what high esteem his abilities as a singer are held. Miss Roes' ability as an elocutionist is of the highest order, and in her sacred pieces she is, perhaps, at her best. The items to be given are strictly sacred, the management being most particular in this respect. It is to be hoped the people of Patea will show their appreciation of the treat af forded them by rolling up in large numbers.
