Sir Henry Parkes ha* announced himself as a candidate for the representation of the Argyle electorate in the Legislative Assembly, He will be opposed by Osbourne, MELBOURNE, March 26. . The convict, Barnes, who in January last made a confession that he had murdered the late J. B. Slack, who it was believed had committed suicide, has undergone a searching examination and was to-day committed for trial.
