Flying Handicap, 50 sovs ; one mile and a distance ; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 2 sovs; winner of any handicap of the value of 30 sovs or more after declaration of weights to carry 51b extra. To start at 12,30 o’clock. Novel Hack Eace, 30 sovs; distance about one mile ; entrance, 1 sov ; post entry ; weight not to be under Bst 71b ; the winner to become the property of the Club, and to be sold immediately after the race. To start at 1.15 o’clock. Eqmont Handicap, 175 sovs ; second horse to receive 25 sovs from the stakes ; nomination, 3 Sovs; acceptance, 5 sovs; distance, two miles and a distance ; winner of any handicap of the value of 100 sovs or more after declaration of weights to carry slbs extra. To start at 2 o’clock. Maiden Plaid, 50 sovs ; for three-year-olds and upwards ; weight for age ; distance, ij mile ; entrance, 3 sovs ; open to all horses that have never won any race prior to entry ; winner of any race after entry to carry a penalty of slbs. To start at 3 o’clock. Hack Flat Sace, 15 sovs ; entrance, 1 sov; post entry; one mile and a distance ; weights not less than Bst 71b; for all horses that have never won an advertised race, hack races excepted ; horses entered for any of the races to be run for at this meeting are not qualified to start for this race. To start at 3.30 p.m. District Eace Handicap, 60 sovs; distance, If miles; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 2 sovs; open to all horses owned for six months prior to time of entiy by bona fide residents who have been living between the White Cliffs and the Manawatu River for that time. Winner of tho Egmont Handicap to carry 51bs extra. To start at 4 o’clock. Consolation Stakes Handicap, 30 sovs; for all beaten hordes ; one mile and a distance; nomination, Isov; acceptance, 1 sov. To start at 4.45 o’clock.

RULES. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition : that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. AH entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Hawera, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in case of handicaps, performance of horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider, Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 sovs. “ Post Marks will not be received in “ future under any pretence whatever ; “ and nominations unpaid at the time of “ the due date of weights will be struck “out of the list.” When two or more horses start, the property of one owner, a distinguishing color must be worn. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 2 sovs to the race fund. All races to be run under Wanganui Jockey Club Rules. Horses walking over will enly receive half the stakes. Qualification fee for non-members residing in the Hawera County to be £2 ; t those residing outside of the County, free. I No other nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing, f A.ll persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 sovs to the race fund. In nil races the second horse only saves his stakes when it is specially mentioned. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, Egmont Handicap, and District Race Handicap, will close at the Hon. Secretary’s Office, Hawera, on Saturday, 7th February, at 9 p.iu. Weights will bo declared on Tuesday, I7th February. Acceptances and General Entries will close on Wednesday, 4tb March, at the Hon. Secretary’s Office, Hawera, at 9 p.m. R. H. NOLAN, Hoh. Sec.
