To start at 3.30 p.m. District Eace Handicap, 60 sovs; distance, If miles; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 2 sovs; open to all horses owned for six months prior to time of entiy by bona fide residents who have been living between the White Cliffs and the Manawatu River for that time. Winner of tho Egmont Handicap to carry 51bs extra. To start at 4 o’clock. Consolation Stakes Handicap, 30 sovs; for all beaten hordes ; one mile and a distance; nomination, Isov; acceptance, 1 sov. To start at 4.45 o’clock.

RULES. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition : that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. AH entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. I No other nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing, f A.ll persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 sovs to the race fund. In nil races the second horse only saves his stakes when it is specially mentioned. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, Egmont Handicap, and District Race Handicap, will close at the Hon. Secretary’s Office, Hawera, on Saturday, 7th February, at 9 p.iu.
