WHENUAKURA-WAITOTARA ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the ,afacve Board was held on Saturday, February 28. Present: Messrs; .Johnston, Dune, McDonald, and Fleming (Chairman). Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. . Treasurer’s Balance, £4B 6s. Correspondence from Messrs Wilson and Frere re erecting gate on road near their property. From Mr T.W Fisher re repairs to culvert on Waitotara Station Road. . From Patea County Council re appointment of a ranger. . ... From Property Tax Department, forwarding roll of Crown Lands for 1884-5. Resolved, That the Wairoa Road Board be communicated with re payment of their share of liability re Henson’s Road survey, Messrs Wilson and Frere’s application for a gate on Beach Road was left, over for one month. Resolved, That Mr Durie see. to repairs of culvert on Station Road referred to in Mr Fisher’s letter. Resolved, That the Board declines taking any action for the present regarding a ranger, as the Impounding Act gives ratepayers every facility themselves to impound stock, ‘should they be annoyed with them on their respective roads. Resolved, That notice be given to all ratepayers in the district having gates on public roads to have a board with the words “ public road ” fixed thereon, as per Section 139, Road Boards Act. : The following accounts were passed for payment—Standard Insurance Com pany; £1 ; E Gr Ross, £6 16s 6d. The meeting then adjourned.
