The election of a member for Melbourne Province in the Legislative Council has resulted in the return of Mr Ham who beat Dr Beaivy by seven voles, Mr Coppin who was also a candidate was third. SYDNEY, Dec 1. In I iis speech at the hustings last evening Sir Henry Parkcs said that he refused to accept his defeat for East Sydney as the verdict of the country, but that it would probably result in certain changes in the Government.
