HAWERA TOWN BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the ILa'vcra Town Hoard, was bold at the Town Clerk’s ollicc, on tiic 3rd April. Present —Messrs Baker, Black, Minks, Cameron, McL’Dowie, and tlio Lhahmaii. T(ic minutes of the special meeting hold on the 20th .March were read and approved 01. Capiain W ray’s'let ter was read, informing' the Hoard that a situ had been granted hv the Government, for erection of Town Hall and Library'. Tenders were opened for the lonning and giavelling portion of footpaths. Four tenders were received. Jantes Qniaiivau being the lowest tenderer, was accepted— TBd'lOs. Peso!ved, that Messrs Winks, Baker, and McL’Dowie act as a working committee, and supervise the works in course of construction. Proposed hy Mr Cameron, and seconded by Mr Winks—“ That tenders be called for gravelling that portion of the road formed hv Mr Dingle, and that the tenders be ojiened by the clerk on Saturday, the Bth hist, at G p.m. Jlesolved, that the town rates he collected. Several accounts were passed for payment, amounting m tire aggregate to ;£i)B Os Bs. The meeting then adjourned, until the Jirst Monday in -May.
