Many of our readers will remember during the Duke of Edinburgh's visit, the presence of Hugh Brown, the brother of his mother’s favorite servant, was made known to Ids Boyal Highness on the Caledonian Ground, Dunedin, and that the Prince sent tor Brown, with whom he had a lengthened and friendly interview, recalling Balmoral and scenes and incidents of ‘ auld lang syne.’ We now learn that Her (Majesty has invited Hugh Brown to visit his friends in the old country, where probably a snug little billet will be provided for him. Should he not he tempted to remain at home, the expenses of his voyage there and hack to New Zealand will be defrayed hy her Majesty. Brown will sail hy the ship Canterbury from Dunedin having leased his {'arm for a period of three years. He la tely visited some friends in this locality ; and but for tin's visit her Majesty’s kindly behaviour would not have received the publicity wo now give it.”
