It is understood that among the measures to be brought before the next session of Parliament is one for the amendment of the Bankruptcy Law, and that Mr Bowen has devoted great care to the framing of the Bill. At a well attended meeting of early settlers held this afteroon, a resolution was unanimously carried, to the effect that pioneer settlers and members of their families who arrived prior to June, 1848, are entitled to a free grant of land, and that Parliament be moved in the matter. At a meeting of four hundred Kaipara Natives, a petition to the Queen was adopted, praying for a continuance of Sir Donald McLean’s services as Native Minister for ever. Additional pieces of wreck have been founq at Long Beach, on the Ninety-Mile Beach, some of which bear the words “ Success, of Auckland,” thus setting at rest all doubts as to what vessel they belong to. The inquest on the three bodies found with the wreckage was held at Ashburton, yesterday, when a verdict of “ accidentally, drowned ” was returned. The bodies were those of a white man and two Kanakas. The white man was dressed in oilskin over-alls ; the right arm was tatooed blue and red, with a woman holding a flag, and “ Young America" and a full throe-masted schooner; ho was a very large framed man. One of the coloured men was tatooed on the left arm “ Kaphulhinlinlm Siomenth Oknpulu ; ” on the right, “Tealo Omaln Selpho ” ; the other man had a flag on the inside of his left thigh. HOKITIKA.
