Despite the fact that their country is dominated by the Nazis, or because of it perhaps, the young people of Denmark have organised into groups on a national scale of such proportions as to prove to the invaders that neither through studied blandishments nor force will it e possible for them to make the Danish youth exchange loyalty to their king and the nation for a system of government not only abhorrent lo their ideal but wholly foreign to what they have been accustomed Under the leadership ol Prof Hal Koch, an outstanding educator and follower of the Grundtvig Folk School system, the Danish youth movement is extending its work through the cities as well as che entire countrj-side For some unknown reason the Gestapo have so far iefrained from placing Professor Koch under arrest, as has been the eas- 1 with some other educators who have declared their opposition to the Nazis. And yet, he has been as outspoken in his antagonism a s any, and continues through his lectures and writings to show an uncompromising attitude toward the invaders and what they stand for. Denmark is dotted with camps where the young people of both sexes are giving expression to their love of liberty and 00-operation. The purpose of these camps is mainly to bring the youth from the cities into the country where they can help the farmers in many ways.
