South African seaman, 2(j .years of age, wlio has been in Now Zealand for three months was charged with the murder of Sidney Samuel Sparrow, of Quanticq, Virginia, and Elmer \\ illiaju G-eti, of S>an Diego, C'a<lifornia. and remanded bv Mr J JL. Stout, till January 14th. G’eti was shot through the heart and died immediately and three shots were fired at Hazel Josephine Salmon wounding he r in; the head, the arm and the neck; she wa s removed to hosptial i n it serious condition. Sparrow was shot through the head and Jived for two or tlwve hours afterwards. When a. constable arrived at the house a shot was filed at him but missed. The pistol was owned by Crawford.
