Tara* kan coast to Pagoda Point in -Mandalay. Small coastal river craft upon which the J apaaiese largely depend for transporting troops and supplies were the chief targets. Most of the attacks were made from a low level aud altogether more than 60 small vessels of various types were bombed and machinegunned. Although detailed results were not always observable it is known that many of them were severely damaged and at least three lieavily-laden sampan** were sunk off Rajnree Island. “Blenheims bombed a Japanese troop’s position in the area west of itathidaung while Wellingtons night attacked the railway marshalling yards at Mandalay. Bombs were seen to burst across the target area and fires were started. “Blenheims bombed the Mandalay railway junction and b,its were obseriod on th© main lines. None of our planes are missing.”
