(From the Pahiatua “Star,” 4/1/93). A correspondent in another column draws attention to the unsatisfactory state of Mann’s Street East, which has just been formed by the Borough Council. He has just cause for complaint. The correspondent wrote: I should like to call attention to tlie rotten roadmaking that is going on in the Borough. On Friday evening I was passing Mr Green’s cottage after the storm and on the newly-formed road there must have been three chains of water in the water tables which extended almost to the crown of the road. What a blunder when the road could have been given a gentle grade, and the water easily carried away. The amount expended on the Woodvillo-Pafiiatua section of railway for the year ended August 31, was £1,618, and on the Eketahuna section, £3,565.
