FAREWELL AT MANGAMUTU

Sponsored by tli© Mangamutu Par tri-otfic Committee, a. social and dance held in the Mangamutu hail last night provided tlie occasion for residents of th© district to say farewell to a popular soldier, Tpr. O. U. Neats. On behalf of tlie Committee, Mr \\ . MoClerta.gha.il wished the guest the best of luck aaid handed him a small token of the esteem in which lie is held. Further presentations were made by Mr L. .3. Heayns for the combined 13usli and Mangamutu Miniature Rifle Clubs, Mr J. E. Macdonald for the Druids’ Lodge and also one from the local school children Tpr. Iveats replied suitably and expressed his appreciation. The hall was well filled aaid those attending danced to excellent music supplied by Mrs Tait, Mr L. Strang© and Ivan Merrie. Extras were played by Miss Joyce Ebbett and also by Mr George Wade (accordion). Items were given by Mrs Harrington (songs) Master Jim Beasley (songs, and Noeline Corn ford (tap dance). The ladies of the district supplied a splendid supper. The evening was 'voted a wonderful success by all present.
