INTER ESTING BOWLING. The Pahiatua Bowling Club was favoured with ideal playing days during the New Year holidays and a given praised by Palmerston visitors as the best on which they had played this season. Highlights of the match play v ore the defeat of Truscott and Fensey by F. (’osford and K. Taylor and the Badger-Scott victory over Messrs Hartley and Macrae the defeated pairs in each match being very doughty opponents. and the' victories in each game being secured by only one point. An old club member, Mr R. Pilkington, now a resident of Palmerston. enjoyed a day’s bowling on the Pahiatua green during the holiday. A pair§ tournament was held on Saturday last in which veterans of tin* club figured prominently. The Skips eomj etition was won by W. Britland with 5 wins. Mr C. Arrow, who is possibly one of the oldest bowlers in New Zealand today took second prize with 3J wins for a very popular victory.
