WEEK-END WEATHER
EXCELLENT HOJJL’AV CONDITIONS. New Year’s Eve was a sweltering hot-day and at night the conditions were excellent for the Ball and the last minute shopping. It was an ideal evening for the ciowd which gathered in the town. New Year’s Day was gloriously sunny. Those who travelled to the races at Mart oil—and there was a goodly crowd from the district—were blessed with splendid weather, while the “stay-at-homes” many of whom spent time at the baths, at the Dark and the river found the heat of the sun sufficient to cause sunburning Saturday broke jjull with showery weather to follow and although fine rain in the morning was followed by one or two heavier showers later in the day. conditions generally were quite pleasant. Yesterday, Sunday, although the temperature was lower than on Thursday or Friday, was indeed a real “holiday” day with a bright sun tempered by a light breeze. Beautifully clear, last night was a little cooler but portended bright weather today.
