The people of Occupied Europe hav,e been urged in a broadcast to chalk up the figures 1918 tp remind the Germans of their defeat in the last war. This is intended to replace the “V for Victory” campaign. In. a broadcast, to Occupied Europe Colonel Britton, leader of the “V for Victory” campaign, said that in 1918 the enemy could fight no more and h© would like to forget this. “We painted ‘V for Victory’ on che walls in the dark days. In these brighter days the figures 1918 are now appearing on the walls i n occupied countries. We will not win the war with a slogan, but we may use the idea to remind ourselves and the enemy of the victory won before.
