(From “Pahiatua Star” 14/12/92.) | Mr Richardson, the energetic and | popular proprietor of the Dudley j Arms, is to be congratulated on the • vast improvements he has carried out. The addition of another story ! causes the building to stand out very prominently. It is now a house | of 22 rooms. The improvements are I the work of Mr C. Benzie. * Our Wellington correspondent telegraphs that it was decided at a Cabinet meeting yesterday to authorise the expenditure for widening the road between Pahiatua and Palmerston. | We are informed by Mr E. Wrigley. architect, that Mr E. Benzie not having conformed to the terms of contract for the new' Borough Council Chambers that the tender of Hewatt Bro,s (£200) has been accepted. Work will commence immediately.
