The Tobrnk garrison, according to an agency correspondent in Egypt was composed of United Kingdom, South African and Indian troops. It is r.tot known what numbers( if any) got away-. Small craft were ordered to leave v the harbour when they were heavily shelled, but they took a wayonly light material as th e fighting was then still proceeding. Several explosions were heard indicating that the demolition squads were at work. The correspondent adds that onemv forces operating near the Egyptian frontier so far have beer. held. A R A.F Middle-East communique reports a successful attack on a large concentration of enemy transport near S’di Azeiz landing ground, also night bombing raids bn Tmimi and and on enemy concentration southeast of Tobruk. Tor}>edo-carlying aircraft "escorted by fighters attacked an enemy convoy in. tile Mediterranean. Two large merchant vessels were hit and one was left on five. There was little air activity over Malta oil Saturday or Sunday. One Junkers 88 was shot down. Eight of our planes; are missing, but one pilot is safe.
