GOODWILL CRUISE ENDED
ITALIANS FEAR REPETITION OF UN PLEASANT INCIDENTS.
United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, February 10. 1 rom Central America despatches state that tlie visiting Italian warships have been recalled t<* Italy, cancelling tlie so-called goodwill trip due to a repetition of the incidents at Panama on February 3rd, at Buenos Aires, Ecuador, and the fear of a _ continuance at other South American ports.
Two Italian cruisers arriving at Panama on a goodwill cruise were met by angry crowds and Admiral Stomigli’s car was pelted with rotten eggs as lie drove to call on the President. Police reserves were called out and feeling is high owing to Signor Gayda’s editorials stating that the Italian-German frontiers may extend to the Panama Canal.
