MANGAMUTU SUFFER DEFEAT KUMEROA PROVE, SUPERIOR. A match which attracted a large ciowd oi’ interested spectators was contested yesterday on the Mangamutu Tennis Club’s courts, when the home side suffered its first defeat at the hands of the visiting Kumeroa players who are to be congratulated on theii well-merited victory. The Kumeroa club has a well balanced team this season and should make a strong bid for the honour of holding the Radger Cup. Several outstanding players—L. Hills in particular—making; the team a very bard one to defeat. At all times yesterday the tennis was of a high standard—all players seemed to be •determined to give* of Their best, much to the enjoyment of the interested onlookers At the afternoon tea interval Mr W .Miller, patron of the Kumeroa Club ,expressed Jais thanks to Mangamut u } -layers for their sportsmanship and hospitality. Mr V.
