YOUTHS BREAK FROM GAOL
EXIT THROUGH IRON NETTING NO TRACE SO EAR. Electric Telegraph—Press Association TIMARU, Last Night. Three youths, Frank Dixon, aged 19, Garfield Smith, aged 17. and Claude Hill, aged 17, appeared in the Timaru Court yesterday on charges of breaking, entering and theft, and also of unlawfully converting cars. They were remanded in custody till Monday, but about nine o’clock to-night when the police visited the cell they found it empty. The three accused had forced their way through iron netting over the space in the exercise yard and made good their escape. There was no trace of them at a late hour to-night.
