HOLIDAY CRUISE.

YACHT LEAVES AUCKLAND FOR SYDNEY. Electiic Telegrapli—Press Association AUCKLAND, February 9. Five young men in search of holiday adventure left Auckland to-day •aboard the 36ft. cutter Wayfarer for Sydney by way of Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island. Later they propose to sail back to Auckland. The whole cruise will occupy about four months. The joint owners of the Wayfarer, Messrs K. and G. Reid (Otahuhu), who also built her, have with them as crew Messrs Douglas Rush and Don Hardy (Auckland) and Bernard Black (Napier). Mr Keith Beid is skipper and navigator and the others are all experienced yachtsmen, with the exception of Mr Black, who is making his first “It is simply a. holiday,” said Mr K. Reid. “We are unlikely to go beyond Sydney. We will call at Russell on the way up the coast and expect, to make Norfolk Island in about 10 days’ time. We are in no hurry and are making the trip purely for pleasure. No schedule lias been made and we have no plans as to what we will do when we get to Sydney.” Carrying sufficient stores and water for two months, the Wayfarer has a, motor for use in emergency.
