BUSH UNION MEETS.
A meeting of the Bush Rugby L moil was held in the Herald” Office last night, the president (.Mr R. J. Smith) presiding. Others prt>— sent were Messrs D. R. Salter, C. Wilton, O. Stone, R R. .Humphrey, M. Reichenbach, S. Qlliver, W. Lawry and the secretary (Mr E. Chatwin).
Mr D. W ilton waited on the meeting to suggest that trees be planted irom the gate to the goll course as this area at present was windswept. He said fifty trees would do the job aj 1 d the total cost would bo about £. without the* labour—sav £lO for the lot-
A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Wilton lor the interest ho had tanen, this being carried by acclamation. The secretary reported that the Horowhenua Union had written to ask for a game for tho Ghillie Cup on September 17th. The secretary said he had asked tho junior selector (Mr C. Burgess, and if he could get a team the challenge would be accepted. Mr W. Henderson was appointed manager. The following cups and championships were awarded; Senior Cowan Cup. Hamlin ; junior Cowan Cup. Marima: junior championship, Hukanui. Hukanui have now won the junior championship three times in succession.
