As a result ot ihe collision, Mason s light car *'iih. broken windscreen and battered !m»’t lay, half on its side, over a tw o-lout drain on the left of the road travelling south. The larger car, belonging to Riddell, also had a biokei* windscreen but otherwise was undamaged save for the crushing of the ironfc right-hand mudguard and head lamp. Travelling with Riddell were Mrs Riddell, two daughters and a niece, none of whom was hurt. Ihe ilriver and passenger in the light oar were badly shaken and received minor outs and abrasions.
