SCHMELING IN HOSPITAL
INJURIES TO HIS BACK. (Received 12.30 p.m.) United Fress Assn.—By .Electric Telegraph—Copvright. NEW YORK. June 23. The boxer, Schmeling was taken to hospital after suffering pains in the back throughout the night. An X-ray showed a fracture of the muscle attachments of the back and haemorrhage of the lumbar muscles which though painful are not serious. He will remain in hospital for perhaps a week.
