INFECTIOUS DISEASE
DIPHTHERIA AT MASTERTOX. Electric Telegraph—Press Association MASTERTON, June 21. Fifteen cases of infectious disease v ere notified at Masterton during May. Nine cases of diphtheria and three of erysipelas were included. “The cases of diphtheria are still for the most part extremely mild,” states the report of the borough inspector, Mr T. Russell, “and from past experience J can safely say they bear no relation to the locality or to the sanitary condition of the borough. The piesent outbreak is merely a passing phase, a milk epidemic, the very mildness of the disease making it mere difficult to control.” „
