THE LEAGUE TEST

The general committee of the New South Wales Rugby League has decided that there will not be a test between Australia and New Zealand on the 2nd July as requested by the Council of New Zealand Rugby League. It has been decided that tlio matches previously arranged for the 2nd July would stand. These matches are:—New South Wales v. Queensland, at Sydney and New Zealand v. Newcastle at Newcastle The Queensland League had telegraphed that it was not interested in any other fixture for July 2nd than the New South Wales v. Queensland match. The committee did not discuss the possibility of the Test being played later A message was read from Mr Carlaw, co-manager of the Kiwi’s recommending that the final decision on the question of the Test should be deferred until after next Saturday’s match between New Zealand and Queensland.
