Wilton, R. J. Smith, M. Reichenbach, S. Ol liver, W. Lavvry and the secretary (Mr G. L. Chatwin). Owing to the withdrawal of Eketahuna Old Boys from the senior competition, the following transfers were approved: F. Sigvertsen, J. Sigvertsen and J. Baucke (from Eketahuna to Nireaha) and A. McGlashan (to Hukanui) ; r also J. Treadray (from Wairarapa Old Boys to Hamua). H. Wolland was regraded from senior to third grade. The Marlborough Union advised that they would be prepared to play a game against Bush when they made their northern tour next season, seeking information as to what gate might be expected.—Referred to secretary. The New Zealand Rugby Union forwarded a cheque for £l2 to cover the loss made when the late secretary of the Puketoi Sub-Union absconded with money paid for test match seats, which loss was later made good by the Bush Union. This matter had been explained by Mr R. J. Smith when attending the annual meeting of the Nev Zealand Rugby Football Union and Mr Smith was thanked for his efforts aneht same.

The Golden Bay-Motueka Union advised that they had postponed their northern tour for the present season. The Puketoi Sub-Union invited the Bush representatives to play at Pongaroa as a return match was due and no funds were available to send their team to Pahiatua. It was agreed to play a mid-week game at Pongaroa, the date to be fixed by the Puketoi Sub-Union. Mr M. Reichenbach was appointed manager of the Bush team. The Dannevirke Sub-Union (which had been asked to play the Bebbington Shield challenge on July 9 instead of July 2 owing to the point-to-point at Pahiatua) intimated that the 9th was not suitable to them as it would entail playing two representative matches in succession. The letter stated that Dannevirke Union was playing their club games on June 25, the date of the Hunt Club races, and trusted that in “view “of the weak counter-attraction of the point-to-point steeplechase at Pahiatua” the Union would be good enough to adhere to its original decision for July 2. The proposal was not entertained, Dannevirke being asked to keep July 9 as previously suggested. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The following fixtures and referee appointments were made for next week’s games: Senior-. Pahiatua v. Marima, at Marima (Mr E. Matson) ; Konini v. Hukanui, at Pahiatua (Mr W. Lawry) ; Hamua v. On the motion of Messrs Smith and Humphrey, Messrs Olliver, Wilton and Chatwin were deputed to inspect, with a carpenter, the Union’s grandstand, with the idea of providing a gymnasium and training room. An effort is to be made to procure funds for this purpose under the New Zealand Union’s special offer of assistance for ground improvement. Air Smith said he was prepared to go at his own expense to Wellington to place the matter before the New Zealand Council, this being accepted with thanks.

Letters of appreciation are to be forwarded to Mr E Eddie (for his first-aid assistance at the Wairarapa match), Mrs R. Mabey for transporting injured players), Traffic Inspector Milne and the Pahiatua police for their services at the match against Wairarapa. Mr Smith pnul a tribute to the selector, Mr Stan.
