* P 1 ght Rev. AV. H. Howes, 8.A., of Invercargill. Aloderator of the Presbyterian Assembly, together wilh the Rev. A. A. Armstrong, paid a visit to Pongaroa to-day, returning to visit St. Paul’s, Pahiatua, on Wednesday. A reminder is given of the mangels and ehou-moellier competitions, to be conducted under the auspices of the local branch of the Farmers’ Union, on or about 23rd inst. There is no entrance fee. The judge will be Air N. Lamont, Alasterton, fields instructor of the Government Agricultural Department. Farmers are reminded that the unreserved clearing sale of the herd of T. P. Darle.v, Esq., of Alnngaramarama, will be held at the.Woodville saleyards to-morrow (Wednesday) commencing at noon. Full details will be found in an advertisement on page 8. . A fraternal visit of several of the Wellington Dodges is to be made to Loyal %lahgatu.inoka Lodge on Saturday evening and a Lodge meeting followed by si. social is to be held in the Masonic Hall. Lodge will be .tyled at 7 p in. and'the social portion will demmence at 8 p.m. Members urgtfd to attend in full force. Their wives or lady friends are welcome to the social.
