LOCAL BODY ELECTION

NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES 15 SEEK BOROUGH COUNCIL SEATS. Nominations for the Rahiatua Borough and County, Hospital Board, Power Board and Harbour Board election on May 11 closed at noon today a"d judging by the candidates for the various seats the coming Box'ough election will be particularly interesting. There are no less than 15 candidates for the nine Council seats of whom seven are sitting members. The Mayoral issue will be contested by Messrs 3. K. Siddells (deputy mayor on the present Council) and J. W. There were only two nominations for the County Council’s two seats on the AA’airaia pa Hospital Board, the sitting members AVALTER BRITT,A ND and FELIX STUART HINDMARSH HOLTON, being elected unepposed.

A RABBIT BOARD ELECTION. The Rabbit Board nominations total seven, and as there are but five vacancies an election will thus l>e necessary.
