THE SCHOOL SPORTS.

PAHIATUA D, H. SCHOOL.

PUPILS PERFORM CREDITABLY. The Pahiatua District High School held their annual sports on the -liecreation Ground yesterday in dull weather, A cold wind was sweeping the ground and this no doubt was to blame for the small attendance of parents and the general public. Nevertheless although the weather was not as congenial as could have been wished for the children entered into the fun with great zest and the competition was very good indeed, some very close finishes being witnessed. Great credit is due to the officials who were in control of the programme for the efficient and expeditious manner in which the many events were run off. The officials were as follows:—Organiser, Air Slater - starter, Mr Clark; assistant starter, Mr J. W. Salt; judges, Airs Beales and Allsses AlcKittiick and Griffiths; track steward, Miss AlcCardle; timekeeper, Mr Reid ; record, steward Miss D. F. E. Junker. Owing to the lateness of the day it was found impossible to finish tho whole programme and therefore the points prizes have not been decided, there being several events to be finalised before those can be judged but the first available opportunity will be taken advantage of and it is hope-1 to be able to advise the winners m the next day or so according to the weather.
