WIDENING WORK TO START
IMMEDIATELY. 'Hie Pahiatua County Council has received word from the Public Works Department that the widening of the Makuri Gorge and elimination of several bad bends will bo commenced immediately. The Pahiatua County is required to find £IOOO this year and a further £IOOO next war \i,s their contribution to the work which will cost cog oqo. I lie scheme, in addition to eliminating several notoriously dangerous spots along this vital link u ith the Akitio County, will [uovide work for many men, in this district.
