PRICES FROM FEILDING. FAT SHEER SELL WELL. Electric Telegraph]—Press Association FEILDING, August 27. Though the Feilding stock sale today lacked the sensations of last Friday, prices were very firm throughout. Fat sheep again sold at high rates, and. a large entry' of fat ewes attracted by last week’s prices sold readily at late average prices. One pen of maiden ewes with very heavy skins.' bred at Runnythorpe, made 425. Heavy prime wethers from Colyton made 41s, and a. pen from Waitotara 435. There was a small entry of store sheep, .with a keen demand for store hoggets. Wether hoggets went to 27s 7d, paid for a pen of 31 from the Sanson district. A pen of 23 ewes with 30 lambs made 41s 6d. The fat cattle were mostly ex dairy cattle, which found a ready market, female beef making 30s a hundred pounds. A heavy yarding of dairy cattle made a further advance of 10s a head. This means an advance of 40s during the past few weeks, with prices still firming. The range of prices was as follows : Sheep: Prime fat wethers to 40s ; extra prime 41s ; average, lines 38s 9d ; light shorn from 26s 6d ; prime ewes 38s 9d ; extra heavy 40s ; prime maiden owes, very heavy. 40s to 42s ; prime hoggets 21s 6d to 28s: prime lambs 27s 10d; lighter 24s to 265. Store sheep: Wether hoggets very good, 27s 7d : other pens from 19s to 26s lOd : ewe hoggets 33s 4d to 33s 8d; ewes with more than TOO per cent, lambs 41s 6d.

Fat cattle: Shorthorn bullocks £lO 12s 6d: shornhom cows £6 15s ; heifers to £6 2s 6d; Holstein cows £5 2s 6d ; mixed colours, beef-bred cows £7 10s to £9 : ex dairy cows, prime, to £8; heifers to £6 10s. Store cattle: Boner cow to £3 17s 6d; forward cows to £4 Is; yearling P.A. steers £6 5s to £6 15s; P.A. cows and heifers £6 11s • yearling Jersey heifers £4 to £4 16s. Poultry: Hens to 3s 4d; cockerels Is 8d to 2s lid ; ducks to 3s. Pigs: W eaners, good, 22s to 28s; others 10s to 16s 6d; slips 15s to> 29s ; stores 32s to 35s ; sows £3 17s 6d. CARTERTON YARDING. CARTERTON August 27. A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs was offered to a large attendance at the Carterton stock sale* today. Sheep were firm on late rates, one particularly good pen of woollv wether hoggets, offered on behalf of Mr A. AT. Haigli, Grey town, realising 30s 3d. Competition was keener for springing cows and heifers and a good sale resulted. Pigs were again keenly sought and, ot 135 yarded, with the exception of two breeding sows, a total clearance was effected under the hammer. Following are some of the realisations : Sheen: Eat wethers to 465; fat and forward ewes 26s 6d to 37s 3d ; ewe hoggets to 32s 10d ; woolly wether hoggets 27s 3d to 30s 3d; b.f. hoggets to 24s Id. Cattle: Cows on drop £6 10s to £9 15s : springing cows £5 to £8: cows just calved £3 10s to £5 15s : springing heifers £5 to £7 2s 6d . fat cows £4 10s to £6 os ; forward cows £2 16s to £4; store cows 37s 6d io £2 9s ; cull cows 10s to 275. Pigs: Weaners, small 13s to T6s 6d ; medium 17s to 'l9s 6d ; good 20s to 255: slips 23s to 26s 6d : store pigs 28s to 325; light porkers 33s to 35s ; others 37s to 42s ; sow and litter of eight £6 ss.
