BETTER BOWLING.
KEEPS KENT QUIET (Received- 12.35 p.m.) (From the Special Correspondent of the United Press Association, with the team.) CANTERBURY, August 26 With Cowie in Ins best form Kent found runs much harded to obtain today. Eight wickets fell in an hour, not because tlio batsmen were taking risks but because the bowling was really good. Cowie maintained a steady length and good pace and was always a menace. New Zealand brilliantly opened their second innings. Vivian and Hadlee scored nearly two runs a minute. Three wickets were lost quickly and therefrom the batsmen forfeited aggression Tor caution. Moloney and Tindill, batting with determination, added 92. Moloney was patience personified, hitting thirty-six singles in his half-century which took over two hours. Tindill was a workmanlike helpmate in a valuable partnership. Scores -. KENT. First Innings.
