COWSHED TRAGEDY.
CHILD CAUGHT IN MACHINERY. Electric Telegraph—Press Association DARGAVILLE, August 26. At Aoroa, near Dargaville, this morning. Gordon Groome, aged 5, youngest son of Mr Percy Groome, was killed through being caught m machinery in a cowshed The father, who was in the milk-ing-shed, heard the children playing round the cowshed, but did not know that Gordon had gone into the engine room. Hearing a knocking noise, he went to ascertain the cause and found his young son seriously injured. Dr. J. A. Marshal] was, called immediately, but the boy died when being taken to the Northern Wairoa Hospital.
