August 25 After the first half hour the wicket developed a considerable lift, assisting the bowlers although Moloney scored steadily with well timed, and well-placed strokes. Seven wickets were down for 94 runs and then Roberts and Tindill made a fine fighting stand for 91, scoring a run a minute. Roberts hit eight fours ncluding six copybook off drives. He was dismissed by the fastest piece of stumping of the tour. Tindill played neat strokes to fine leg through the slips, hitting three fours. Kent evidently believed that attack was the best defence scoring quickly. Woolley gave an enterprising display, hitting ten fours.
