FUNC TION AT MANGATAINOKA. Despite a number of counter-at-tractions the Alangatainoka hall was crowded last night for the Alangatainoka Aliniature Rifle Club** ball. A feature of tin* gathering wa< the large number ol visitors and men from surrounding districts rtion larly Wcwxlvilie. -The music of Brooker s hand \xas the highlight oi the evening and dances were repeatedly encored. Air H. Goodwin, president of the club, in the course* oi a short sp«*cf*h, thanked visitors for attending and mentioned that fhe trophies lor the season’s shooting would be present ! at a dance to be held later. He also paid a tribute to the orchestra. Two Monte Carlos wen* won bv Aliss Grace Goodwin and Air R. Dodd, and Aliss D. Cotter and Air \A . BrightweTT.
