On Saturday there were no t ewer than seven sporting engagements ill which the Bush district took part against neighbouring counties. At Palmerston North the men’s and ladies hockey tennis went under to Manawatu ; in Paliiatua Bush defeated two Afnnawntu Basketball teams; at Levin the Bush senior Rugby players lost a memorable match against Hnrowhenua; at Carterton the Bush team defeated the Wairarapa junior Rugby team and last of all the Bush riflemen took part in a losing match against tlie eraek shots of AVairarapa on the Hukanui club’s range. This was quite a good day’s work for local sports who acquitted themselves very well.
