Chatwin was in the ascendancy. They put on a single at the sixteenth and followed it up with a three and another single, thus regaining their early lead. Pilkinton and his partner rolled down a three which put them in front again and they put the issue beyond doubt by repeating this at the twentieth head. The game was worthy of a final and the win was well deserved, Pilkin'ton’s play having been most consistent throughout the competition.
