LOYALISTS’ DESPERATE THROW. FLOOD HAMPERS REBEL HOST. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph- -Copyright. LONDON. September 24. The Daily Telegraph's Madrid correspondent say*, that the Government forces, making dcsj>erate efforts to check the insurgent advance on Madrid, captured Quisuioudo.
The Government claims that the opening of the Albexcho dam ed the insurgent column advancing upon Toledo, from Maquoda end L'alavera. The flood swept down the Tagus valley and engulted rebel trt-ops, batteries and ammunition, isolating the column at Torri Jos which Government forces are attacking ou three sides. It is claimed that loyalists have almost reached Talavera owing to the insurgents’ retreat after the flooding. The insurgents declare thry are continuing the advance to relieve the Alcazar which is still bolding out.
