FEILDING SALE. DAIRY CATTLE BOOM A buoyant tone characterised t cry section at the live stock sa;c to-uay, when about UudO sheep and 39U Head of cattle were forward, fat lain os were of only medium quality, prices therefore being easy, but fat e\\ es and fat wethers were of excellent weights, skins bringing record prices. Fat ewe prices have been advancing lor several weeks and to-day reached 27s 6d. with 28s 9d for a small j-eu of maiden ewes. This was a record, price for tat wethers a few weeks ago, but to-day wethers went to 32s 6d. Retaining the previous high level* store sheep found a ready market-, especially ewes in lamb Two-tooth ewes 1 etched 36s and ewe hoggets 32s 6d.

The dairy cattle market boomed, springing heifers going to £9 5s and springing cows to £8 ss. There was a. very large entry for auction, with a total clearance at splendid average prices. A small yarding of store cattle was forward, the major portion, being boner cows, which sola at late rates. The fat cattle market was buoyant, with a satisfactory yarding of heavy and prime cattle of both beef and dairy breeds. Ox beef made to 30s, and cow beef to 24s a IOOLb.

Sheep: Fat lambs, fairly prime 23s Bd, medium 20s 6d, light from 15s; this year’s lamb, first offered, 14s 6d. fat ewes heavy prime 27s 6d, maiden ewes 28s 9d, very good weights 26s 7d to 27s 3d. good to 265, light from 17s to 23s 6d. fat wethers heavy prime 32s 6d. prime to 29s 6d. fair from 24s Id, black-face two-tooths heavy 29s 6d. light from 21s lOd. Store cattle: Boner cows good condition, to £3 4s: forward cows to £3 15s; weaner heifers £3 4s. two-year heifers to £3 17s, shorthorn cows £4 ss, P.A. steers young £3 Is. Jersey bulls £2 10s to £3 10s. Fat cattle: Shorthorn heifers prime £5 los, Jersey cows prime heavy £4 10s to £ 5 15s, light from £2 10s. Jersey heifers prime to £4 12s 6d.
