WAIHOU MURDER.
MAORI COUNCIL INVESTIGATION. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WHANGAREI, June 18. The Maori Council has finished taking statements from Maoris ir. reference to the murder of Mr Ernest Severin Nelson. It is not known whether the stateim nts will be of use to the police. Detectives are anxious to locate the driver of a car that passed Nelson's gate between 7.40 and 7.50 on the night of the murder. They believe that if the driver came forward the police would be assisted m their investigations.
