BURGLAR FRUSTRATED.

Waipukurau was the scene of a daring burglary exploit about 2.3 D this morning when a man thought by Night wr.Lehman E. G. Price to be between thirty and thirty-five years of age. was found by him on the premises cf Alessrs H. B. Popi Dwell and Co., in Alain Street, packing up men’s clothing into boxes. Hie burglar escaped and apparently reached a waiting ear He left an overcoat, chisel and tyre lever behind in his hurried exit. The criminal or a confederate evidently stole twelve gallons of petrol from Wells’ garatre, after smashing tlie lock, and also made an endeavour to enter two other shops.
