EWE FAIR AT APITI.

GOOD SHEEP SEED WELL. At the Apiti ewe fair on Tuesday last the Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. report having offered a large yarding of sheep to a good attendance of buyers. Young ewes were keenly sought <rter. ewes with good mouths sellaim well up to recent values but failing mouth and low-conditioned sheep did not meet with a ready market. A good yarding of store lambs sold well up to late rates and the bulk of the yarding was sold under the hammer. Prices were:

Fat cattle: The entry was a little smaller with quality better. Best beef was scarce and in good demand ;• t an advance of VI. Best beef sold at 25s 6d to 27s 6d per 1001 b; extra, 29s ; good. 23s to 255; ordinary, 18s to 21s 6d : rough, down to 15s 6d.
