FINE WEATHER—LARGE ENTRIES.

Southern Hawke’s Bay has always prided Itself in the wealth of its pastoral industry and the excellence of its stock and judging hy the splendid display at the Dannevirke Showgrouns yesterday, there is every reason why the district should be entitled to the reputation it has established for the production of firstclass animals. The exhibition was the S7th of the Dannevirbe A. and P Association’s long list of successful and they are to he congraon not only maintaining a h:.gh standard but also on bringing about increased entries in many of the sections. The weather held fine and under efficient management, breeders and patrons spent a very enjoyable day. The show continues to-day which is people’s day and one of the features will be the grand parade of stock before the grandstand. Results of the judging yesterday were as follows : HAIRY PRODUCE. Results of the dairy produce section are a s under : Tamaki Challenge Cup for export cheese (white), Elmdale Hairy Co <W. Hinton, manager). James Armstrong Challenge Cup ' for export cheese (coloured), Elmdale Hairy Co. (won' outright). Gold medal for most points in cheese classes, Woodville Hairy Co. (J. H. Kearney, manager).
