PRICES LARGELY NOMINAL. Owing to [the strike, Smithfield market is at a standstill, but distribution is being carried on through stores, ex depots and ex ship. Prices ex store for lamb and mutton are nominally unchanged. Higher prices for chilled beef are largely due to additional transport and distributive costs in the special circumstances. There is no shortage of supplies. and consumers have been arfected very little so far.
