Undoubtedly one of the most ambitious productions ever presented on the “living" .scroll is British International Pictures’ “Drake of England," which comes to the King's Theatre on Tuesday. February* 11. It is a momentous subject tracing the colourful career of one of England’s greatest and most daring sons of the sea, and presented in most elaborate and realistic manner. When “Drake ot England" was scheduled. Arthur Woods was awarded the coveted directorial assignment. And the young directorial genius ha> prove himseli equal to the great task in every respect. He has caught- the atmosphere and spirit of the 16th century in which the exciting st* rv t***k place. | articularlv well. “Drake" is full of action. Tin highlight ot the film, of course, is the unforgettable battle between the mighty Spanish Armada and the tin\ English fleet. It must be remembered that in those days Spa u was master of the seas, but wonderful irresistible spirit of British courage and daring had lu*en born—a spirit- that was soon to establish England's supremacy on the seas. Aloreover. in Drake* they had a lender. It was his marvellous strategy, allied with bulldog British courage which crusneo the mighty Spanish Armada, and finally won the day for England.
