STORM DAMAGE.
COSTS COUNTY £I7OO. A severe storm which took place on the 2nd inst. created a considerable amount of damage throughout the Pahiatua County. The districts where the damage was most extensive are Hinemoa, Pori. Makuri, Coonoor, Ngaturi and Makairo. All the roads in the localities mentioned were completely blocked. As a result of employing extra labour the roads were all available by mid-day on the 3rd inst., with the exception of the MakairoCoonoor road. The damage consists mostly of slips and wash-outs. Bridges and culverts, while being severely taxed, fortunately suffered only minor damage.
