LABOUR MINISTER’S DECISION. Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. Last Night. The establishment of a Bureau of Industry, a permanent body to assist the Government to explore and examine every possible avenue of organised development and to ensure the* collaboration oi all section* of the State’s activities lor the development ol the Dominion, was announced to-day* in an interview with the Hon. H. T. Armstrong. Minister of Labour and Employment.

The Bureau ol Industry will consist of administrative officers and experts at present in the State's employ associated with all phases of national development. An Industries Development Board will i unction as part ol the Bureau ot Industry. ‘‘For the purpose of securing a complete liason with Cabinet.said the Minister. * r tTie functions ol this section of the administration will be carried out under the guidance and direction oi a tsp* ial 001 Cabinet Ministers ((insisting of the Ministers of Finance. Industries and Commerce. and Labour. The most important functions will be to organise and survey the necessary proce*dure for the expansion ot industrial development. in every direction and to examine and report on all projects that are formulated \\ ith the hope of assistance from the l ; Government. The Minister said that in addition it was intended to utilise the advantages o£ the proposed bureau through expert sub-committees toi helpful consultative contact with representatives of labour and industry, and tor examining any proposals submitted to it.
